23rd July 2004

"Arrested" whilst peacefully going about my way
Hold up, driving, police, breathalyser, checkpoint, registration, drivers licence, abandon, summons, attend court

On the evening of the 23rd of July 2004, whilst driving my son and myself to the picture theatre in Launceston we were stopped by a Senior constable Russel Walter at a road side breathalyser checkpoint.

The officer examined my car and found that there was no registration label on the car and that I did not have a current "paid up" drivers licence as required by members of 'his' Institution. We were then forced by him to abandon the car and proceed on foot.

Later I was summonsed via the mail to attend the magistrates court on the 22nd of October, where before a person named ' Justice of the Peace,' I was to plea. I attended and proceeded to make my plea as detailed and was cut short by the JP, and told that I would have to attend court before a magistrate with the date being set as the 3rd of February 2005.
